We've tried a few things from there, and they've got some really good stuff!  My co-workers have tried a few of their sandwiches and burgers.  Fresh veggies, meat and amazing looking different types of bread.  They have a grilled pizza that is delicious.  Better than any pizza around here right now, IMO. And they have a  bakery inside that looks like heaven with cakes, cookies, breads galore, if your into that.   They have something called utica greens.  I tried a bite or two and it was also delicious.  They have roasted vegetables too.  Their stuff is a different than the same o , same o and very fresh.

In case anyone wanted to know how it is, and wants to try something different.

Right behind Nelson's Dry Cleaners on Coffeen. Gus Romeo, owner of Nelson's and another man are the owners of the deli.

I didn't hear anything about them opening it, thanks I've been waiting for them to open to check it out. Romeo families are good people.

The Romeo family is a great family. I know a few of them sure can cook too! I plan on stopping by and supporting them. Wish them all the best in this new endeavor.

On Tuesday, April 13th, I was in need of a "thank you" for a colleague.  On my way to work, I noticed that Romalato's was open and thought I would grab something from their bakery as I had heard great things.  I went in and was delighted to find the cases full (at 8:30 a.m., no less) and a relaxed, yet upscale atmosphere.  As the sales clerk was boxing the dozen cookies I purchased (all the size of saucers!) Mr. Romeo came out from the kitchen to chat.  I expressed my interest in the business and my intentions to return in the future.  When I went to pay the $9.00 bill with my debit card, Mr. Romeo explained that their card processing machine wasn't working and said "but don't worry about it- just take the cookies and come back another time- when you have time, to pay.  By then, the machine should be working."  I couldn't believe it!  I was amazed- my first time meeting Mr. Romeo, first time patronizing the business, and he is willing to trust me to come back to pay!?!?  I insisted that he allow me to write a check rather than his waiting to be paid.  And the cookies?  According to my colleague, they were outstanding!

All in all, Romalato's seating area, bakery, and deli counters are impressive, their customer service is unbelievable, and from what I can tell- the food is fantastic!   It has been a long time since we have had a hometown, neighborhood business that conducts itself in such a neighborly way.  All too often, businesses grow too big and/or are franchises- this was old fashioned, hometown courtesy. Welcome to Watertown, Romolato's!  I will be back!

I've tried a couple of items from both the deli side and the bakery side.  They were all fabulous!  The only negative thing is the lack of parking - only about 5 spaces.  But anyway!  I've tried a couple of their sandwiches, a grilled pizza, and some absolutely delicious cheesecake - I'd recommend everyone give the place a try.  (And the prices are pretty reasonable, too!)

I have ordered lunch there quite a few times now. The Italian sandwich w/the fresh mozzerella & basil is amazing! Terrific food, fast delivery!

Ordered for the first and last time.  I ordered two sandwiches and two salads.  the one sandwich says piled high, but must be my def of piled and theirs is two different things.  the second sandwich had the bread so stale you couldnt eat it.  They had no soups what so ever made today.  the salads are alright, but they need to know that a spring mix does not include iceberg lettuce.

took the sandwiches back, he said he could remake them, but if you cant make them right the first time, why would I have you remake them.  Would not give back money.  I will suck up the cost, but will let everyone I know never to eat there.

So you realize Mr. C. King taking food back and getting pissy about it is a HUGE insult to the manager/owner. You wouldn't have gotten any refund from me either. You must have gotten a newbie who made your lunch and if so I'm sure this person got reamed. With all positive comments thus far I'd say you should try it again. And try it prior to leaving the premises.

I have only ever returned to one restaurant when the food and service was bad.  Their customer service sucks and i wont be back due to the manager i spoke with. I sent a an email to see who the owner is.  Let him know what happened.  Any person that allows their food to go back to be "fixed" is stupid.

I didnt think anyone could screw up salads either, but they put in the bitter part of the lettuce and it was all the ribbed part of the lettuce I got.  I can go to Jrecks and get a better sandwich and salad for less what I paid them.

I'll go with ck64 on this one - if you're in the food service bidness, then you'd better deliver first time, every time.
If my first experience with an eatery sucks, you'll never see my face there again.

That said, I still have to give the place a try for myself.  Until I have personal experience, I'll reserve judgement.

update..ordered over a week ago, sent email and no response.  Sort of figured that they dont care about complaints or customer service.  Anytime I have written an email to a business, good, bad or indifferent..I have always received a response.

OR they dont give a shit about customer service.  If someone doesnt like something about a part of what they ordered, you would think they would want to know.  Or the manager was the owner that I spoke with and he doesnt care.  He got his money.   All I know is that whenever someone asks be about it, I will tell them to go to Jrecks, you get more and better for your money and they care about the customer.
