Taking a look at some of the old pictures of any city will provide plenty of squalor. 


That's a very, very good point - especially a pic taken on a cloudy, dark, dreary day.

Now, Geru could take the same pic without the wires and on a cheery day - and it would look like a city that anyone would enjoy putting down their roots.

I remember seeing an old 'areal map' of Watertown made back in 1890. I think it was sketched in a balloon and it had quite a bit of detail. It even had individual houses on it. There used to be a link to an online version of this map from NewsJunky, although the last time I tried the link, it was dead. Does anybody know if there is a current link to this map, or a place where I can buy a copy? I asked at the historical society, but the clerk in the store didn't have a clue as to what i was talking about.
